CML: Coptic Microform Library

Coptic Society

The Society began to create an archive of the primary sources for the study of Christian Egypt as early as the inception of the Society in late 1979. The most economical format that was available was black and white microfilm copies. The first copies were received early in 1980 from the British Library. The acquisition program was in its peak between 1984 and 2000. Since then only few ones were procured. In 1992 we complimented this library was a program to convert many of our xeroxed material into a microfiche card format. The following is the divisions within each of these two programs:

  • Birmingham, Selly Oaks College Library
  • Cairo, Coptic Museum
  • Cambridge, University Library
  • Goettingen, University Library
  • London, British Library
  • Naples, National Library
